How to Use the Random Picker
Enter one name or choice per line, review the active-entry count, and choose how many winners the round should return. Use Spin wheel for a visual draw or Pick instantly when speed matters. Both actions use the same selection method.
1. Add entries
Paste names, teams, topics, prizes, or any set of choices.
2. Set the round
Choose the winner count and whether winners leave the list.
3. Draw and save
Spin or pick, then copy the result or export round history.
Fair Selection and Equal Chances
In supported browsers, the picker reads random values from the Web Crypto API. It uses rejection sampling instead of simply rounding a decimal value, which avoids favoring some list positions when the random-number range does not divide evenly by the number of entries. Each active list position therefore has the same probability in that draw.
Multiple winners are selected without replacement within a round. A name cannot occupy two winning positions in the same result unless the same name was deliberately entered on more than one line and duplicate entries were kept.
Instant Picker vs. Wheel Spinner
The wheel is a presentation layer for classrooms, meetings, games, and informal giveaways. It lands on the first selected winner and reveals every winner after the animation. The instant picker skips that wait, which is useful for repeated decisions or accessibility preferences. Reduced-motion browser settings shorten the wheel animation automatically.
Duplicates, Winner Removal, and Large Lists
Blank lines are ignored. With duplicate removal enabled, entries are trimmed and compared without regard to uppercase or lowercase. Keeping duplicates gives a repeated line an additional list position—and therefore another chance. Removing winners after a round is useful for attendance, speaking order, prize distribution, and any process where a person should not be chosen again.
The tool accepts up to 200 parsed entries. For long lists, some decorative labels are hidden to keep the wheel readable and responsive; all entries still participate in the draw.
Privacy and Appropriate Use
The list and results stay in the browser while you use the page. Avoid pasting sensitive personal data you do not need for the draw. For regulated contests, audited lotteries, admissions, employment, or other high-stakes decisions, follow the applicable rules and use an independently reviewable process rather than relying on an informal wheel alone.
