How to Calculate Attendance Percentage

Attendance percentage measures how many counted classes you attended out of all classes held. Enter the numbers from your college, school, coaching centre, or attendance portal. The calculator shows your current percentage and how far you are from your required target.

Attendance formula

Attendance % = (Classes Attended ÷ Classes Held) × 100

Example: attending 36 of 45 classes gives (36 ÷ 45) × 100 = 80.00%.

Plan for 75% or Any Required Target

If your current percentage is below the target, the planner calculates the minimum number of consecutive future classes you must attend. If you are already meeting the target, it calculates how many upcoming classes you could miss while remaining at or above it.

Below the target

With 70 attended out of 100 and a 75% requirement, attending the next 20 classes produces 90 ÷ 120 = 75%.

Above the target

With 80 attended out of 100 and a 75% requirement, you can miss 6 more classes and remain above 75%.

Subject-wise Attendance and Weighted Overall Percentage

Different subjects often have different class totals, so a simple average of their percentages can be misleading. The subject tracker calculates overall attendance by adding all attended classes and dividing by all classes held. Each subject also gets its own target guidance.

  • Use only classes officially held and counted by your institution.
  • Check every subject separately when minimum attendance applies per subject.
  • Download a CSV record for your own semester tracking.
  • Update the tracker regularly because every new class changes the projection.

Use the Result Carefully

This calculator uses class counts and does not predict timetable changes. Medical leave, approved absence, condonation, laboratory attendance, internal rules, and institution-specific rounding may be handled differently. Use the result for planning and confirm official eligibility with your institution.
