A search engine is a software system that helps people find information on the Internet.

After a webpage has been crawled, the next step is indexing.
Indexing is the process of analyzing the collected information and storing it inside the search engine's massive database.
Instead of simply saving entire webpages, search engines organize information in ways that allow extremely fast searching.
They analyze the page's content, identify important topics, understand relationships between words, recognize images, detect structured data, and evaluate many other characteristics.
Duplicate pages may be combined, low-quality pages may receive less attention, and pages that cannot be accessed properly might not be indexed at all.
